Kieron's First Holy Communion Session

I can't believe I have another "baby" making his First Holy Communion this year! He's not really "mine", but he has been here at the studio since he was an infant! (Actually, Kieron's wall portrait is still up at the studio...an all-time favorite!) Did you know that he has a little sister?
I'm copying a note from Kieron's Mom:

"Our first experience with DeLaRosa Photography was in 1999. After a thorough search throughout Raleigh for a wedding photographer to capture the joy of our wedding day, we both were confident that Carol (DeLaRosa) would meet our expectations. She did that and more, catching things that we didn't see that day. Our album and bridal portrait take our breath away each time we look at them.
After our first child was born, we again called on DeLaRosa Photography to document this life changing event.
Today we walked in the studio to have our son's First Holy Communion portraits taken. The first thing Carol did was show Kieron his first portrait that she took of him seven years ago. That was the perfect start to an awesome session.
We love our family photographer." Shannon L.

QUESTION OF THE WEEK:
WHY DO WE NEED TO CONTACT THE STUDIO NOW FOR FIRST HOLY COMMUNION PORTRAIT SESSIONS?
Answer:
Even though your child's Sacrament may not be for a few months away, DeLaRosa Photography Studio is a custom studio. This means that we are open by appointment only, and each session is reserved for about an hour of time, in which a couple of dozen images are created using several backgrounds or our outside garden area. The studio is known throughout the Diocese of Raleigh, which has several thousand children receiving this Sacrament. Because our "prime time sessions" (Saturday, early-release days and spring/Easter break, or even the day of Holy Communion) book up QUICKLY, we request that you contact us NOW, even if you want a session a few months out, if you have a preference for a certain day and date. We like to keep our clients EXTREMELY HAPPY WITH OUR SERVICES AVAILABLE, and we know you and your child's schedules are quite hectic.
PLEASE EMAIL OR CALL US NOW!

Hannah's First Holy Communion Portraits

Little Miss Hannah came in to have her First Holy Communion Portrait created. Hannah has always had a terrific smile and personality! I can't believe that I have made her portraits since she was tiny! I found an early image of Hannah (see on this post). It seems like yesterday that I was watching her take baby steps, then running all over the studio! She is becoming a beautiful young lady!

A Favorite First Holy Communion Session

As I continue to organize the new studio office (Did you hear, we're now on Six Forks Road in "Uptown Raleigh"), I am coming across so many First Holy Communion children images. This is Gwen, a little lady from last year, and she is such a super person! I still see her at church on Sundays, and she always has a smile on and says HI! (She has great parents too!) From the photos above and below this post, you can see that a little girls First Holy Communion Session is almost like a mini-Bridal Session. From entering the studio, to their own private dressing room, then photographing with multiple backgrounds (or even going to our outside garden area), then getting a goodie bag...it's quite the experience! They enjoy returning to see themselves projected up larger than life and deciding on their favorite images for gift portraits to albums or even mini-brag books. (The boys have fun too, except that they don't have the bows and veils to play with!)

So I started photographing this years First Holy Communion children! They should be posted soon!
If you would like information on sessions or even coming to your Church that day, email us now.
Please note that each custom session is reserved for about an hour, and images are back within 3-6 weeks (wall portraits and albums are usually the 6 weeks). Sessions are by appointment only, and are available on days off of school, including holidays/spring break and early release days, along with weekends. These fill up quite quickly, so contact us now so you can get a session that's not after school.

Become a FOLLOWER of this blog (SEE RIGHT CORNER)and receive a complimentary session AND one tabletop image!
If you are a Director of Religious Education/Faith Formation OR Teacher and would like us the mail or email your class with this special offer, please contact the studio now (as the Diocese of Raleigh has thousands of second graders and as a custom studio, we only have so much time available!)

As I search for "old" communion portraits, I'll create a collage or slideshow and see if you recognize any of these once second graders (remember, this is my 15th year in business, so some of these children may now be young adults!)
